A special welcome to my second Guilty Pleasures Guest Blogger, the lovely and talented Karen, who dares to share her shameful reality-show secrets. Yours Truly has something of a track record in this area herself, being a former reality show bookie and all. (And I confess that I, too, LOVED Felicity—long may she waffle.)
So c'mon, Gentle Readers, I hear you out there, guiltily tuning in to your Bachelorettes and your Big Brothers. Fess up—who else is hooked on this crap?

Okay, yes, I admit it ... I'm hooked too! I've been watching the Bachelorette this season, and I completely agree with everything Karen said.
ReplyDeleteAh, that was so liberating! :)
Great piece, K! Although for me, watching a reality romance show is akin to being subjected to some sort of medieval torture out of a Hieronymus Bosch painting.
ReplyDeleteWipeout! How do people fly through the air like that??? And more importantly, why can't we stop watching it? :)
ReplyDeleteAnd the following one is actually from Susan, my original lovely and talented Guest Pleasure-Seeker, who is having problems posting. I'm on it, S!:
ReplyDeleteI find the most-addicting reality shows to be the Food Network vote-off shows. Top Chef, Top Chef Masters, Hell's Kitchen, The Next Food Network Star, you name it... I watch it. The best thing is that there's never a re-run. It's a bit like sports where you don't know who's going to win. And there's the countdown aspect. And the amazing never-before-tasted ingredients. And the cute hosts. Face it; I'm addicted and I don't know why. Or even care why. And as ANYONE will tell you, I can't even cook! I don't make my kids' lunches so much as assemble them. (One item from each box.) Jamie Oliver's going to kill me if he ever hunts me down...
